Northland Christian is a private Early Education and K-12 Christian Education Campus founded in 2006 with three different locations; the Kearney campus in Kearney, Missouri, and the Early Childhood Center and KC North Campus in Kansas City, Missouri. The KC North 36-acre campus serves Kindergarten to 12th grade students and the district-wide administrative staff.
Hernly Associates has assisted with Phase 1 and Phase 2 of construction. Phase 1 was completed in 2017 and Phase 2 is underway. Phase 1 was a new 45,000 square-foot building. It includes 32 classrooms, a gym, library, cafeteria/assembly area, bathrooms, study spaces, administrative offices, and storage. Phase 2 is a 26,000 square foot addition, including a 5,000 square-foot storm shelter. The addition will feature more classrooms, bathrooms, administrative offices, fully-equipped science and computer labs, reception area, nurse’s office, new gym area, choir and band room, along with more storage. The building is handicap accessible; both phases utilize tilt-up concrete construction and integrate safety requirements.
The project design allows for additional phases as the school continues to grow. Northland Christian has quickly grown since its establishment. The school started with 25 students and now has over 550 students; the new phase will help accompany that growth. The school opened its new athletic complex in August of 2024.
