Life Centers of Kansas

Overland Park, KS (2021)

7495 W 161st Street

Life Centers of Kansas was founded in 2008 to support individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Opened in 2021, the building provides space for day programming services and office spaces. The 26,455 square-foot building is split into six separate tenant spaces; Life Centers of Kansas occupies three; the other three are rented.

The concrete tilt-up building design allows Life Centers of Kansas to lease the spaces and other organizations can utilize them as they please. It gives Life Centers of Kansas the opportunity for future expansion. The whole building was designed to be accessible and secure, with limited access to offices and client areas. Main features include a large gym, climbing wall, and kitchen. Program rooms were designed as large, open spaces with multiple windows for an abundance of natural light. Several office spaces were created for employees. The center was completed with an exterior recreational space including picnic tables and open space.

The program offers residential services through Home and Community Based Services for Kansas Medicaid beneficiaries. They offer a variety of services, activities and opportunities to provide individualized care that enriches the lives of those they serve.
